Nuclear furnace or nuclear reactor build nuclear power ➠
Nuclear furnaces or nuclear reactors use nuclear power for constructive purposes. In this, energy is produced through controlled chain reaction. The first nuclear reactor was built under the direction of Professor Fermi at the University of Chicago. Uranium or plutonium is used as fuel in the reactor. Due to the bombardment of neutrons on these substances, new neutrons are produced. For those whose speed is slow, heavy water, graphite etc. are used. A large amount of heat is generated after explosives.
Which is converted into steam by water or carbon dioxide and is produced with the help of turbine. To prevent the spread of harmful radiation during the reaction, thick walls of concrete are made around the reactor, which are called shields.
It is important to keep the reaction in the nuclear reactor under control, otherwise the explosion may occur. For this, control sticks of cadmium are placed in the reactor. Nuclear energy obtained from the reactor is converted into electrical energy and power houses are made for power generation. Many types of isotopes are produced in the reactor, which are used in medicine, science, agriculture, industry, etc.
